The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)* recognized Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts' HMO Blue as a "Top Ten" health plan nationwide for "effectiveness of care" in NCQA's State of Health Care Quality 2004, and we achieved 13 "Best in Class" designations for HEDIS quality of care measures.

Blue Care®65 was also recognized as a "Top Ten" plan in the category of Medicare Advantage plans.

Our HMO/POS and PPO plans continued to earn the highest NCQA accreditation status available ("excellent" for HMO/POS and "full" for PPO).
