About Your Security
It's important to note that none of your protected health information (PHI) is ever stored on your device. Your information is encrypted. We make every effort to protect your information and make sure that if your device is lost or stolen, you won’t need to worry about your health care information being accessed without your permission.
When you register, you’ll be asked some questions. The answers to these questions are not stored on your device. We use the information entered during the registration process to ensure that you are who you say you are.
We use inactivity timers to make sure when you’re not using the application for a short period of time, we ask you to login again. This reduces the chance of someone picking up a lost device and accessing your information.
Some helpful hints to help us help you to protect your information:
Choose a strong password
- Do not use your birth date or other important date as your password.
- Include upper and lower case letters as well as numbers and special characters (i.e. $, %, #, etc) in your password.
- Never divulge you password to anyone.
- If you feel that your password has been compromised, use the application to reset the password as soon as possible.
- Never write down or store your password on another computer or your device.
Lock your device
- Set your device preferences so that the device requires a pass code or fingerprint to use it.
- Set the auto lock feature of your device so that when it is not used for a specific period of time, it requires the passcode to be entered or fingerprint scan.
Be careful when using the application in public places
- Do not use your mobile card app when connected to a public Wi-Fi point. We can't guarantee your information is not being intercepted and stored somewhere.
- When in a public place, be aware of your surroundings and make sure no one is looking over your shoulder.
- When you are done, always dismiss and close the mobile application.
Be careful when emailing your card.
- Only email your card to your health care providers.
- Make sure you understand where the email will be stored and who has access to that email address.
